Cleanup Girl
Bec got up early the other morning and noticed that Bern had cleaned up a bit of the lounge room, so she proceeded to pick up all of her and Liz’s toys and put them away in their respective toyboxes. All this before Bern was out of bed.
Bern also went to clean the kitchen after breakfast, and found that Bec had placed her bowl carefully in the dishwasher next to the other bowls. We didn’t have the heart to tell her that her bowl is plastic and can’t go in the dishwasher…
Bec turned 3 today, but in a bizzare numerical coincidence, it was also my 33 1/3rd birthday.

Playing in the Park
From a trip with Uncle Tez to the park:
When I last took Bec to the park, on arrival we found an adult man (early 20s) perched on the top of the slide, talking to some friends at the bottom, and not looking like going anywhere. Bec and I went to play on the swings, and when she became tired of them she made towards the slide, then stopped. She looked at the man for a moment, hesitated, and said to him "::I want you to get down"::.
The guys friends said "::I think you have been told!"::, and he promptly complied. They all had a good laugh. So Bec had her first (maybe) taste of authority over unfamiliar adults.
I apologised to the people at that time, then took Bec aside, and gently told her that whenever you ask something of an adult you do not know, always say "::please"::. Then off we went to the slide…

Driving home from the hospital tonight, Bec spotted the trye on the roof of the Beaurepaires shop in Ringwood, and I explained they sold tyres.
Then she saw the camera on the roof of Kirk’s Cameras. I said that’s because they sell cameras.
Up the road, she saw the clock tower. “”That shop has a clock on the roof, they must sell clocks””
I can’t fault the logic.
