09 – What Makes God Smile –

Point to Ponder:
God Smiles when I trust Him

Verse to Remember
The Lord is pleased with those who worship Him and trust His love

Question to Consider:
Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust Him most?

White Sauce

Bern makes a fantastic White Sauce, but I’ve never tried, because I’ve never known how. So last night I got her to write out the recipe.

This has my interpretations all over it, especially the microwave times and more exacting measurements…

1 chunk of butter (about 1cm thick across a 250gm block)
2 Tablespoons of Plain Flour
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup grated cheese

Melt butter (30 secs on medium)
Stir in Flour
Cook for 35 secs on High
Stir
Add milk and whisk till smooth
then add cheese
Cook on high in short burst (30 seconds) till it’s ready.

I think it took me 4 x 30 secs (2 mins)

It turned out yummy, though the milk I used tasted a bit funny, so Bern didn’t like it much. I also used Pizza cheese, so it was a bit stringy.

ICE – In Case of Emergency

This arrived in my inbox the other day, and rather than forward it, I thought I’d post it here…

East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national In Case of Emergency (ICE)” campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston and in association with Vodafone’s annual life savers award.

The idea is that you store the word “”ICE”” in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the name & number of the person you would want to be contacted “”In Case of Emergency””. In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

It’s so simple – everyone can do it. Please do. Please will you also forward this to everybody in your address book, it won’t take too many forwards’ before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life.

There’s even a website: http://www.icecontact.com/

Rolling Over

Liz has started rolling over, which is really a bit earlier than usual, but it’s not a accident when she does 7-8 times over a week. She is really strong in the neck, and able to hold her head up really well (and arch her back when she’s got a sore tummy)

The nasty turns out to be the very common Mytob worm, but I had to search for it, as the attachment was stripped by my real virus checker, but I thought it was very funny
